Converting an underused basement into a legal, code-compliant Secondary Dwelling Unit is one of the most cost-effective ways to add value to a property. We specialize in navigating Ottawa's permit process — egress windows, fire separation, ceiling heights, parking, and registration — and executing the build to rental standard, including a separate entrance, full kitchen, and sound-rated construction between units.
Older multi-unit buildings eventually reach a point where the envelope — siding, sheathing, insulation, windows, and balconies — needs full renewal. We carry out these projects on occupied buildings with careful staging, tenant communication, and code-compliant upgrades that restore performance and appearance.
